working on knowledge

For my first post on my first blog I will sound like so many other newbies. Have to start somewhere. I would like somewhere to display & talk about my work & life & unlife or whatever. I don't care, at this point, if others reach this. I need to try this out for me.
It took some tries to get a flickr pic up. I hope I remember how to do this, but there are work arounds, which might turn out to be preferable. Flickr has a limit on how many pics I can have up & I would rather use it for quilting & post other things here... maybe.
This is a recent pic of an add-a-border I kept. I don't know why I kept this particular block - it wouldn't stop growing? I've used mainly scraps to fill this out from the 18" it was when I received it. Its about 50" square at this point & looks to grow some more. I've learned so much from this round-robin, both on my own & working on those blocks Dustin sends me.

Stockade

Stockade - leftover Log Cabin blocks

I'm still working on how to insert pics & format them. I switched to HTML & copied the Flickr pic in that way. I can link, but when I hit the Blogger button on Flickr, it establishes a new page, with no way so far to combine.

Stockade is an add-a-border that I made myself. The 2 center squares are made from leftover log cabin blocks, some which were sent out to others. I added 2 scrap blocks with more red. The outer 4 corners are 4 of the original log cabin blocks, with paper pieced setting triangles. At about 50" square, this one is finished. I hope to have it finished as a wedding present this summer.

I think I'm learning. My other pics on Flickr show how well I'm doing.
